St. John - Getting There

St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands does not have an airport. Visitors arrive into St. Thomas and then take a short ferry ride from the Red Hook Ferry Dock (East End, St. Thomas) or from Charlotte Amalie (St. Thomas Waterfront) to St. John. The majority of U.S. Airlines including American, Continental, Delta, United, and US Airways all offer service to St. Thomas. Ferry details are below.

Red Hook Ferry Service

The Red Hook Passenger Ferry runs daily between East End, St. Thomas and Cruz Bay, St. John. It departs St. Thomas 6:30am at 7:30am daily, and then on the hour each day starting at 8am and running until midnight. This same ferry leaves Cruz Bay, St. John hourly, 6am-11pm. The ride is approximately 20 minutes. Please call to confirm departure and arrival times.

Charlotte Amalie Waterfront Ferry

The Charlotte Amalie Waterfront Ferry is a 45-minute ride offering daily departures to Cruz Bay, St. John. The ferry departs Charlotte Amalie (9am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5:30pm) and Cruz Bay (7:15am, 9:15am, 11:15am, 1:15pm, 2:15pm, 3:45pm) daily. Please be sure to call to confirm times when you reach the islands!

St. John Shuttle Service offers private boat transfers between St. Thomas and St. John. The rate is $120 for up to 4 guests for service between National Park Dock, St. John and Red Hook, St. Thomas.
